Manager Production

About the role

The Production Manager oversees all aspects of the production process, from planning and coordination to execution and delivery. This includes managing and developing personnel, resources, timelines, and quality control. The goal is to ensure products are manufactured safely, on time, within budget, and to the required specifications.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the production area, conduct safety audits, and ensure staff are properly trained on safety procedures.
• Monitor production processes to ensure that product standards, safety regulations, and quality standards are met, and implement and oversee quality control systems.
• Implement production schedules to meet company goals and customer deadlines, and analyze production data to identify areas for improvement in efficiency and quality.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth workflow, and ensure that production resources are available and that any shortages are addressed promptly.
• Supervise and lead the production team, including operators and team leaders, and train, mentor, and evaluate direct report performance.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production processes, and troubleshoot and resolve production-related issues and inefficiencies.
• Prepare and submit regular production reports to senior management, and maintain records of production schedules, performance data, and quality control results.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a production management/engineering role.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of production planning software and systems (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
• Strong communication/presentation skills, both verbal and written.
• Familiarity with quality control processes and regulatory standards.
• Ability to apply good judgement, strong work ethics, and integrity on the job.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and manage stress in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a high-volume and fast-paced manufacturing environment, preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in a leadership role, preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience, preferred.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies, preferred.
• Familiarity with ISO standards, preferred.
