Manager - Product Management, Community of Practice

About the role

The Opportunity In office role with hybrid schedule, Ally work location is Charlotte NC. At this time, Ally will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain enterprise-wide PM role standards, including role levels, competency expectations, and performance criteria
• Hold meaningful input into PM hiring and leveling decisions across business lines to ensure consistency and quality
• Mandate and drive adoption of shared product frameworks, tools, and processes across the PM community
• Design and deliver a structured training and development curriculum for PMs at all levels
• Build and run the Community of Practice — recurring forums, knowledge sharing, peer learning, and cross-LOB collaboration
• Identify capability gaps across the PM population and develop targeted programs to close them
• Serve as the internal authority and advocate for product management as a discipline

Requirements

Background in financial services required; banking experience strongly preferred

Business focused Product Management background, experience defining and delivering customer and business outcomes, not technical delivery management

Proven ability to influence and drive alignment across large, matrixed organizations

Experience building or leading a PM practice, CoP, or center of excellence preferred

Strong executive presence and communication skills - comfortable presenting to and challenging senior leadership

Track record of setting standards others adopt, not just recommending them

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience
• High school Diploma or GED equivalent

Skills

• Minimum Qualifications: 7+ years of experience
• Preferred Qualifications: 7+ years of product management experience, with demonstrated progression in scope and seniority

Pay

Base Pay Range: $110000 - $180000 USD

Schedule

Work Schedule: Ally designates roles as (1) fully on-site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote. Hybrid roles are generally expected to be in the office a certain number of days per week as indicated by your manager. Your hiring manager will discuss this role's specific work requirements with you during the hiring process. All work requirements are subject to change at any time based on leader discretion and/or business need.
