Manager, Plant Quality Assurance
About the role
The primary purpose of the position is to manage the plant quality assurance function as directed. The incumbent will oversee the quality assurance function, ensuring compliance with customer requirements and managing the quality training and development programs.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and secure work environment by correcting unsafe acts/conditions, facilitating safety meetings, conducting inspections, and investigating accidents.
- Train and certify in the food safety system and oversee its development, implementation, review, and maintenance.
- Direct and coordinate activities of the quality assurance function, including interfacing with the group office and establishing quality assurance standards.
- Establish and maintain a customer relations program and quality training programs.
- Advises plant management and the manufacturing department on quality analysis results.
- Oversee the application and administration of the Infinity system within the plant, if applicable.
- Work with material suppliers on quality issues and cost reduction.
- Administer customer and vendor claim reimbursement systems.
- Perform leak awareness training at the customer level.
- Access, input, and retrieve information from the computer.
- Initiate, review, master, and follow SOPs for the area of responsibility.
- Establish and maintain an employee relations climate of trust and confidence.
- Handle stress and interact with others to establish a positive and productive work environment.
- Understand and respond effectively to emergency procedures and systems.
- Implement contingency plans as required.
- Understand and complete environmental documentation as directed.
- Comply with job safety practices, policies, and procedures.
- Recognize and minimize waste generation through prudent use of materials and proper disposal.
Requirements
- Broad training in a related field usually acquired through college or work-related experience.
- Four years of relevant experience.
- Certifications/experience with ISO, FSSC, and HACCP (preferred).

- Ability to apply intensive and diversified evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard plant quality assurance techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- Able to handle sensitive related and proprietary information in a confidential manner.
- Ability to negotiate with customers to promote or sell ideas or concepts.
- Ability to operate and functionally use a computer.
- Maintain professional competence, ethical integrity, knowledge, and skills.

Pay
$98,900 - $141,330 (Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
Schedule
The regular working cycle of this position is usually 5 days on (Monday-Friday), but this job may include working weekends (Saturday and Sunday); working hours may vary as specified by management. Incumbent must be able to work overtime on a regular basis and/or be on call as directed by management.
