About the role
The primary purpose of this position is to manage the plant quality assurance function as directed. The role will be posted for a minimum of 3 days and may remain open longer based on the volume of applicants.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and secure work environment by correcting unsafe acts/conditions, facilitating safety meetings, conducting inspections, and investigating accidents.
- Train and certify in the food safety system and oversee its development, implementation, review, and maintenance.
- Direct and coordinate quality assurance activities, establish and maintain quality assurance standards, and develop customer relations programs.
- Implement quality training and development programs, analyze quality areas, and advise plant management and manufacturing departments on results of analyses.
- Oversee the application and administration of the Infinity system, address quality issues with material suppliers, administer claim reimbursement systems, and perform leak awareness training.
- Coordinate customer, corporate, and cross-departmental trials, lead quality investigations, conduct root cause analysis, and implement preventive and corrective actions.
- Oversee Hold for Inspection (HFI) and embargo processes, develop and execute action plans, and prepare, coordinate, and conduct internal and external audits.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field (preferred).
- 4 years of relevant experience (preferred).
- Pest control program experience (preferred).
- Certifications/experience with GMPs, SQF, BRC, ISO, FSSC, and HACCP (preferred).
- Cross-functional experience within manufacturing environments (preferred).
Qualifications
- Broad training in a related field through college or work experience.
- Working knowledge of company policies, procedures, and products; quality assurance principles, practices, nomenclature, and procedures; managerial practices; business principles; legal practices; customer needs and expectations.
- Follows company policies, procedures, practices, and standards of conduct as outlined in the Ball Corporation manuals.
Skills
- Apply intensive and diversified evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard plant quality assurance techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- Handle sensitive related and proprietary information in a confidential manner.
- Negotiate with customers to promote or sell ideas or concepts.
- Operate and functionally use a computer.
- Maintain professional competence, ethical integrity, knowledge, and skills.
