About the Role

The Performance Improvement (PI) Practice within Nordic’s Strategic Advisory Services (SAS) helps healthcare organizations address strategic, clinical, and operational challenges. Managers in PI project teams deliver quality work by building data analyses, gathering requirements, mapping workflows, designing use cases, and researching industry changes. This role requires creative thinking, strong communication, and collaboration with clients, technical teams, and leadership. Managers structure and lead projects or workstreams, facilitate client meetings, and build relationships.

With mentorship from leadership, Managers gain experience across clinical, financial, patient experience, and technical solutions to improve healthcare outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with PI team members to implement advisory solutions and demonstrate value throughout client engagements
  • Manage time efficiently across multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities
  • Own project management artifacts (workplans, status reports, decision and risk logs) and drive deliverable development
  • Create complex analytical models using tools like SlicerDicer, PowerBI, and CoPilot to solve healthcare problems
  • Develop financial analyses, statistical reports, visualizations, and presentations for internal and client review
  • Lead client interviews and meetings
  • Conduct analyses to identify improvement opportunities and implementation recommendations
  • Deliver high-quality, client-ready work products
  • Contribute to practice knowledge capital and tool development
  • Update work plans, issue logs, status reports, and initiative trackers
  • Review and validate analyses and deliverables before submission
  • Perform quality reviews on team member work products and validate findings
  • Manage and mentor resources within projects and across the PI Practice
  • Build expertise across PI solutions (e.g., patient access, revenue cycle, application portfolio modernization)
  • Demonstrate and embody Nordic’s maxims

Requirements

Education & Industry

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Data Sciences, or related fields
  • 7+ years of experience in healthcare (e.g., hospital administration, strategic planning, PMO, management consulting)
  • Operational knowledge in at least a few of the following: hospital finance, supply chain, HR, decision support, clinical informatics, patient access, registration, HIM, coding, revenue integrity, billing, and denials management

Core Software Skills

  • Strong expertise in Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with EMR (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech) or ERP solutions (e.g., Oracle, Workday, Infor)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of tools like:
    • GenAI Assistants (CoPilot)
    • Analytical tools (PowerBI, Tableau)
    • Programming languages (SQL, Python)

Additional Details

Travel up to 20-30% of the time.
