Responsibilities
At BJ’s Restaurants, we’re on a mission to deliver “WOW” experiences for our guests and our team members. As we continue to grow, we’re investing in stronger data, insights, and measurement across our People Team to help us better understand how we attract, develop, engage, and retain our talent.
- Turn Data Into Insights: Design and maintain dashboards and reporting that highlight key People metrics, including talent pipeline health, retention, engagement, and leadership development and training outcomes, while ensuring accuracy and consistency across systems.
- Identify Workforce Trends: Analyze workforce data to uncover opportunities to improve retention, hiring effectiveness, and leadership development, translating findings into clear recommendations for People and Operations leaders.
- Build Meaningful Metrics: Develop standardized definitions, KPIs, scorecards, and success measures for People initiatives, creating a common language for measuring results across the organization.
- Measure Impact & ROI: Track the effectiveness of key People initiatives, including talent acquisition programs, manager training, and EVP efforts, connecting People outcomes to business results such as retention, internal fill rates, and labor productivity.
- Partner Across the Business: Collaborate with HR Systems, IT, Operations, and Finance to strengthen data integrity, integrate People data into business scorecards, and enable workforce decisions grounded in reliable analytics.
- Tell the Story Behind the Data: Prepare quarterly People Insights and impact reports for senior leadership, using data visualization and storytelling to connect talent outcomes to business performance and ROI.
- Support Executive Communication: Partner with the Chief People Officer and HR Leadership Team on presentations and updates that clearly communicate People trends, progress, opportunities, and business impact.
Requirements
- 5-8 years of experience in People Analytics, HR Operations, HR Project Management, or a related area, ideally within a multi-unit, hospitality, or growth-oriented organization.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with analytics and data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
- Experience working with HR systems such as Workday, ADP, or equivalent.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify meaningful trends, connect data points, and translate findings into actionable business recommendations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex data and build clear, compelling narratives for a variety of audiences.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively across People, Operations, Finance, IT, and other business functions.
- Executive presence, sound judgment, attention to detail, and a bias for action.
Pay
USD $115,000 - $125,000 plus bonus eligibility.

Schedule
This role follows a hybrid schedule. You’ll join us at our Restaurant Support Center in Huntington Beach Monday through Thursday, with the flexibility to work remotely on Fridays.
