About the Role
Responsible for overseeing the daily operation of assigned unit(s) to ensure high-quality, compassionate, and efficient patient care. Leads and develops staff, manages budgets, ensures regulatory compliance, and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Maintains operational responsibility for nursing and health care services on the unit.
- Promotes positive customer relations with physicians, patients, families, visitors, and employees.
- Follows up on complaints and provides feedback.
- Monitors level of patient, staff, and physician satisfaction.
- Promotes collaboration regarding patient care issues with various staff levels and disciplines.
- In collaboration with other members of the leadership team and the Education Staff, ensures staff participation in orientation, mandatory and continuing education programs, and other staff development opportunities.
- Plans unit conferences, educational endeavors, and in-service meetings for staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing with a minimum of 3 years nursing-related experience OR associate’s degree with 5 years of nursing-related experience.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse to practice nursing in Michigan.
- BLS Certification.
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Master’s degree in a related program.
- A minimum of 2 years’ leadership experience.
- ACLS Certification.
Schedule
- Full-time.
- Daily work times: 7:00am–3:30pm.
- Hours per pay period: 80.
- On-call: Yes.
- Weekends: No.
