About the role

The Patient Access Services Manager at Baptist Health Care is responsible for providing superior quality, competitive value, outstanding customer service, and ensuring most efficient processes are followed to meet regulatory requirements and industry standards for all registration entry points. The manager works with the team to meet and exceed goals established by Baptist Health Care.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates work performance of employees and makes recommendations for hiring, promotions, demotions, transfers, and other personnel actions including disciplinary actions and suspension.
  • Responsible for time cards and scheduling of work hours.
  • Responsible for reconciling daily, weekly and monthly patient access reports (i.e. daily census report, accuracy report, time and attendance, trending reports) and submits reports to Executive Director Patient Access.
  • Supervises the multiple facets of patient access services.
  • Ensures that all areas of oversight consistently meet or exceed organizational standards and comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures that all departmental processes are consistently followed, monitored, and improved as needed.
  • Manages team members which include orientation, development and evaluation of personnel, and monitoring the provision of delivering quality services.
  • Participates in the recruiting, interviewing and selecting of team members following policies, guidelines and applicable laws. Evaluates their performance relative to job goals and requirements. Provides coaching to staff, recommends in-service education programs, and ensures adherence to internal policies and standards.
  • Effectively communicates departmental, organization, and industry information to staff.
  • Is responsible for the department’s operational excellence and ensures that the department delivers quality services in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and professional standards.
  • Is responsible for the fiscal management of the department and ensures the proper utilization of the organization’s financial resources.
  • Responsible for recruitment of team members and onboarding to the department until self-sufficient. Including providing observations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum Work Experience: 4-6 years healthcare revenue cycle experience
  • Preferred: 2 years supervisory or leadership experience
  • Other related field, Health Care Preferred
