About FiNC

We're upgrading how America chooses its leaders. Right now, three middlemen decide which candidates you ever hear about: big money, party gatekeepers, and media manipulation. They control the money, the access, and the visibility every candidate needs to win. Good candidates are everywhere: teachers, veterans, small business owners, community leaders who genuinely want to represent people. The system is just built to keep them invisible.

FiNC is cutting out the middleman. Think of us as a matchmaker for civic life: we connect citizens to the candidates who actually want to represent them, the movements working on what they care about, and the people building the same world they want. No gatekeeper deciding who you get to choose from. We don't pick sides. FiNC is the referee, not a player. Not left, not right, just representation.

The DP Hub (hub.futureis.org) is live now: candidate profiles, a Civic Tags system that lets candidates define themselves beyond party labels, citizen priority surveys, and growing Candidate Discovery. Movements and communities are our biggest growth engine right now, because they bring the citizens candidates want to reach.

What makes this work isn't just the technology. FiNC's core focus is the human side: outreach, PR, social media, and building citizen buy-in. We're not marketing a website. We're campaigning for a better way to choose leaders. Every candidate with a profile and every movement that plugs in benefits from that ongoing work. And the system is built so everyone lifts everyone. When a candidate shares their profile, citizens who click through discover other candidates. When a movement drives people to the DP Hub, those citizens find candidates aligned with their values. A different incentive structure than anywhere else in politics.

Our structure matters: FiNC is building something akin to a cooperative-style nonprofit where team members are partners and co-architects in a mission to rebuild how American democracy works. If you're ready to help build the civic infrastructure America never got, with citizens and not gatekeepers, step in.

Compensation Model

To maintain our independence and avoid conflicts of interest, we are not accepting investors or financing that comes with strings attached. Instead, we are Crowd-Starting FiNC—building it together from the ground up. We’re asking team members to contribute 15-20 hours per week during this phase, with compensation paid retroactively once we become fully operational. This model only works if you see it as a short-term investment for long-term rewards. Everyone who joins is a partner, receiving an ownership stake in FiNC. Our structure is similar to a Nonprofit Cooperative, moving beyond the traditional “employee vs employer” dynamic into something more collaborative and forward-thinking. This model filters for people who believe in the mission deeply enough to build alongside us. It's not for everyone, and that's okay.

Culture and Employment

  • Neurodiversity and diversity-of-thought are strengths, not obstacles
  • Servant leadership, dynamic team structures, and shared ownership
  • Purpose over profits, value over hours, and respect for work-life balance
  • We reward authenticity, passion, and commitment—not conformity
  • We support individual weaknesses to enhance collective strengths
  • Continuous role assessments, long-term growth opportunities, and real career sustainability

From your first 2-way interview, you will see (and feel) how radically different we are.

The Role

You will run the engine behind FiNC’s Outreach Team. Our Outreach Associates are the ones talking to the outside world: movements, communities, partner organizations, independent voices, and candidates. Your job is to make sure they always know what they are working on, have what they need to do it well, and actually get it done. This is a structure and support role first. You own the team’s tasks, process, and progress. You keep people organized, supported, and pointed in the same direction. The team talks to the outside world. You make sure the work behind them holds together. If you like turning a messy pile of goals into a clean list of assignments with names and dates on them, this is your role.

What You Would Own

  • The team’s work
    • Turn goals into specific assignments with 1 named owner and a due date
    • Run the Outreach FiNC-Table, our custom project management system built on Airtable, as the single source of truth for who is doing what by when
    • Keep it current: nothing sits unassigned, nothing quietly stalls
    • Run a simple weekly rhythm: what shipped, what is stuck, what is next
    • Report progress up to leadership. Short, clear, honest.
  • The team’s people
    • Be the first person an associate goes to when they are blocked
    • Check in 1 on 1 on a regular schedule so problems surface early, not late
    • Onboard new associates and get them productive fast
    • Notice who is overloaded and who has room, then rebalance
    • Make sure good work gets seen by the rest of the organization
  • The team’s process
    • Write and maintain simple step-by-step guides so the same task does not get reinvented every time
    • Keep templates, trackers, and shared docs organized and easy to find
    • Spot where the process breaks and fix it, instead of working around it
  • Outreach itself (secondary, and a real plus)

The outreach work is not the core of this role, but if you are strong here too, it makes a big difference.

    • Help the team with email templates, replies, and social interactions
    • Find new opportunities worth reaching: organizations, communities, shows, and events
    • Coach associates on tone and follow-up so their conversations land better

Who We’re Looking For

  • You turn ideas into action. This is the whole job. A goal shows up, and you turn it into 4 tasks with names and dates on them
  • You are organized by instinct. You already run your own work on lists, boards, or trackers, and you notice when something has gone quiet
  • You follow up without being a pain. Calm persistence. You close loops and you do not let things drift
  • You write short and clear. You can hand someone an assignment in 3 sentences and be understood.
  • You are people-first. Your team should feel supported by you, not managed at. You want them to look good
  • You pick up tools fast. Airtable, Notion, Asana, Trello, or anything similar. You do not need to be an expert. You need to learn a system quickly and make it stick
  • You can talk about politics at a system level without sliding into party fights

We care much more about skills, drive, and fit than years on a resume. If you have run a team, a crew, a club, a campaign, or a group project and left it running better than you found it, tell us about that.

Nice to have

  • Experience managing a small team, interns, or volunteers
  • Airtable specifically
  • Outreach, partnerships, organizing, or campaign experience
  • Experience writing onboarding docs or step-by-step guides
