Manager - Operational Labs group

Overview

The Astrion company is seeking a Manager of the Operational Labs group to support the LASSO contract at the Kennedy Space Center (KSC), located in Kennedy Space Center, FL.

Required Qualifications / Skills

• 10 years of related experience in a technical engineering or scientific field.
• 5 years of experience in a lead or management position of a technical or scientific team.
• Experience with Unions and Collective Bargaining Agreements (desired).
• Business Development mindset, with an awareness of the fluctuating funding challenges associated with working with NASA and the ability to pursue new work opportunities for the group (desired).
• A positive attitude with a focus on progress, overcoming challenges, and modeling a positive mindset for the workforce (desired).
• Strong customer service skills and a commitment to delivering results for the customer (desired).
• A servant leadership mindset with a commitment to team members, understanding that taking care of your team enables them to take care of your customers (desired).
• An existing network and knowledge of the customer's processes related to operational support at KSC (desired).

Responsibilities

• Manage a network of supervisors and their teams, focusing on delivering LASSO’s technology development projects on time and within budget.
• Meet with customers regularly to provide status, anticipate, and deliver on their needs.
• Cook up with other business entities like Finance, HR, and procurement to ensure your group works smoothly, efficiently, and profitably.
• Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of laboratory operations.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards across all laboratories.
• Foster a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of laboratory teams, providing feedback and support for professional development.
