About the role

The Manager of Technical Sales Specialists role is remote-based and involves leading technical demonstrations, trials, and workflow support to strengthen opportunity progression and portfolio adoption in partnership with Central Sales.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate priorities and support skill development to ensure high-quality technical engagement aligned with business unit and central sales expectations.
  • Ensure timely and consistent technical validation work that enhances customer fit, accelerates adoption, and boosts conversion rates across the assigned region or cluster.
  • Oversee the contribution to early-stage opportunity creation by ensuring structured qualification, timely technical engagement, and adherence to coverage boundaries agreed with central sales.
  • Document technical activities, opportunity progression, and customer interactions rigorously in CRM systems to maintain pipeline hygiene, accurate forecasting, and data-driven commercial steering.
  • Collaborate with account managers and cross-functional business unit stakeholders to facilitate smooth opportunity handover, consistent messaging, and efficient resource allocation.
  • Collect and share recurring customer needs, workflow patterns, and competitive signals with product management and product development to drive portfolio improvements and sales enablement.
  • Ensure the team provides accurate and comprehensive technical inputs for contract-related sections by coordinating with central sales, business unit stakeholders, and legal, maintaining technical clarity and delivery feasibility without assuming commercial ownership.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of technical sales, applications consulting, or pre-sales experience in a scientific or technical environment.
  • Proven hunter and influencer with strong technical depth and ability to guide high-skill specialists.
  • Strong workflow, application, and portfolio understanding across assigned solution areas.
  • Ability to interpret customer workflows, emerging needs, and competitive signals to guide team actions and strengthen technical positioning.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and structured sales processes, with strong documentation discipline.
  • Strong communication, consultative selling, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Willingness to travel more than 50% due to the role's focus on external customers.
