Manager of Tax and Accounting Services

About the role

The Manager of Tax and Accounting Services oversees a team of Tax Associates, manages tax and accounting services for the Private Wealth Management Division, and ensures compliance with fiduciary income tax, estate, and gift tax regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop, oversee, and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with fiduciary income tax, estate and gift tax regulations.
• Manage and oversee the delivery of tax returns and accounting services.
• Assume primary responsibilities for client engagements, including identifying and addressing problem areas with minimal oversight and assistance.
• Review tax returns and accounting deliverables.
• Document, deliver, and enforce sufficient controls to prevent errors.
• Help promote the Private Wealth Management team by contributing to publications, conducting trainings, and helping to grow and deepen relationships through expert tax experience and advice.
• Manage third-party consultants, vendors, and resources related to tax returns and accounting services.
• Provide regular updates to the leadership team on the status, risks, and interdependencies of all in-flight tax projects and accounting projects.

Requirements

• A Master's degree in a relevant field or a CPA designation.
• 7 years of applicable experience.
• 1 to 2 years of demonstrated tax leadership experience, ideally within a Wealth Management institution.

• Education and experience that provides an equivalent background to the required qualifications.

• Experience with tax software and accounting systems.
