Manager of Shared Services
Job Summary

The Manager of Shared Services in the Division of Research provides administrative oversight of university-wide research, interdisciplinary centers, and engagement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Manages shared administrative and operational services supporting multiple units within the Division of Research.
- Reports directly to the Vice President for Research and serves as the primary operational lead for shared administrative services supporting OURCI, Cyber4All, and TAI.
- Supervises administrative staff supporting OURCI, Cyber4All, and TAI.
- Establishes operational priorities, assigns workflows, and ensures continuity of services across multiple units and initiatives.
- Develops, implements, and maintains shared-service operational procedures.
- Oversees operational workflows for travel, payroll coordination, scheduling, purchasing, facilities coordination, event support, and administrative services performed by shared-services staff.
- Oversees operational planning for projects and events supporting university-wide research, innovation, outreach, workforce development, and student engagement, particularly those offered by Cyber4All, TAI, and OURCI.
- Conducts special projects and annual reporting for the Cyber4All Center, TAI, and OURCI.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Five years of progressively responsible administrative, operational, project management, or program management experience.
- Adept with various computer software packages, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation programs; Internet, email, and calendaring software; and responsible use of AI software.
- Demonstrated supervisory or personnel management experience.
- Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage event scheduling.
- Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and execute multiple complex and ongoing assignments.
- Ability to interact with students, staff, and faculty at all levels in a courteous and efficient manner.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information systems, cybersecurity, information technology, data analytics, or a related computing field.
- Experience with PeopleSoft/Stratus or equivalent, AI software (e.g., ChatGPT), and design software (e.g., Canva, Marq).
- Prior experience in a college or university setting.
Salary and Benefits
Targeted hiring range is $73,000-$77,000 and full university benefits that include 22 days of annual leave, up to 17 holidays, personal and sick days; excellent health, life, and retirement plans; and tuition remission. To learn more about our benefits, please click here.
