About the role
The Manager of the Rehabilitation Medicine Department at NewYork-Presbyterian / Lower Manhattan Hospital oversees the effective operational management and regulatory compliance of both inpatient and outpatient programs. This role provides oversight for Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Language Pathology.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the implementation and adherence to departmental policies and procedures
- Ensure regulatory compliance and accreditation requirements are met
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with external stakeholders including insurance companies, regulatory bodies, and community partners
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient care and outcomes
- Manage staff schedules and resources to meet departmental goals
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff
- Develop and implement training programs for staff
- Participate in strategic planning and decision-making processes
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Kinesiology, or Health Related Sciences
- Licensure as a Physical Therapy (DPT) or Occupational Therapist by the State of New York
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification – American Heart Association
Qualifications
- Master’s degree preferred
- Previous experience working in inpatient and outpatient settings
- Previous leadership experience

- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Knowledge of rehabilitation medicine principles and practices
- Experience with regulatory compliance and accreditation processes

Pay
$125,000 - $170,500/Annual
