About the role
The Senior Manager of Procurement Strategy and Delivery reports to the Vice President of Capacity Solutions and works in a hybrid environment (3 days required onsite per week). This position is exempt and salaried.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to North America transportation strategy for Redwood SCS Managed solution and its successful execution.
- Establish vendor strategy of qualified carriers across modes using both highway and procurement tools to manage, develop, and monitor vendor relationships through RFP participation and delivery performance.
- Develop and recommend modes and strategic areas that align with the customer profile.
- Collaborate with post-RFP analytics and strategy to deliver clear messaging on results, comparing historical and market benchmarks, RFP outcomes, vendor participation, and expectations to Sales, Commercial, and Customers.
- Work with the Delivery team to implement strategies for post-go-live activities, including contracting, integration, training, and coordinating timelines with the implementation team.
- Engage with other Redwood teams such as Mexico Pricing, CAN Strategic, Multimodal, International, LTL on potential customers, understand customer networks, and continuously reduce customer costs.
- Collaborate with the Procurement team to support the tool, process, audience, output, and data integrity, ensuring accuracy and conciseness.
- Lead cross-functional teams, identify opportunities for quality improvement, and drive problem resolution.
- Build and maintain strong interpersonal and organizational skills, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of combined experience in carrier Procurement and Logistics/Operations.
- Solid understanding of transportation Carrier/Service Providers contracts, all modes, transit times, and networks.
- Comprehensive knowledge of mode rate structures (Air, TL, LTL, Parcel, International).
- Understanding of the FP&A Audit Process and Payment Process to Vendors.
- Ability to interpret and communicate reporting trends and translate them into actionable directions.
- Knowledge of market conditions and their impact on specific customers, locational constraints, and data analytics.
- Ability to work independently under tight deadlines in a rapidly changing environment.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Availability to travel 5-10% of the time.
- Self-motivated and able to work well with minimal supervision or in a team environment; willing to consult with team members and management as needed.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills with the ability to multitask.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Tableau, and familiarity with TMS platforms (Mercury Gate and Oracle Transportation Management), DAT-TransCore, PC Miler, Rand McNally, Triumph Pay, EDI integration, MacroPoint, Salesforce, Jaeggar RFP Tool, Highway, Triumph Pay, Confluence, Harvest.
