MANAGER OF PRICING EXCELLENCE AND COMMERCIAL ANALYTICS

Daniel Defense, LLC · Ellabell, GA · 1 mo ago
On-siteOTHRFull-time

About the role

This is a newly created role responsible for strengthening how Daniel Defense approaches pricing, product costing, and customer tier strategy across the portfolio. This role partners with New Product Development and Operations on cost initiatives that support company margin objectives, and reviews the pricing structures used across e-Commerce, MIL-LE, and Commercial customer channels to ensure they remain competitive and advantageous. Beyond pricing and costing, this role serves as a broader strategic financial analytics resource to the CFO and Executive Leadership Team, supporting a range of ad hoc strategic initiatives – including financial analysis in support of potential M&A, investment, or business development opportunities, such as assessing how a target company's product lines, cost structure, and margin profile compare to our own. The ideal candidate is comfortable building rigorous financial models and executive-ready analysis across a variety of strategic questions, not solely pricing, and can move fluidly between recurring commercial analytics and one-off strategic projects.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate pricing across the product portfolio relative to brand positioning and market benchmarks.
  • Develop pricing models and recommendations to inform go-to-market pricing decisions.
  • Build business cases and executive materials to support pricing decisions, quantifying financial impact.
  • Partner with New Product Development and Operations on cost initiatives that support company margin objectives.
  • Build costing and margin-bridge models to evaluate product-level profitability.
  • Develop recommendations, including cost-reduction or portfolio actions, where product margin does not meet company targets.
  • Maintain an ongoing view of portfolio margin health and pricing/cost positioning by product and category.
  • Provide recommendations on the financial performance of the product portfolio to support strategic decision-making.
  • Evaluate pricing tiers and discount structures across e-Commerce, MIL-LE, and Commercial channels.
  • Design pricing and tier frameworks that balance customer value with company margin objectives.
  • Model the financial impact of proposed channel or tier changes.
  • Serve as a financial analytics resource to the Director of FP&A on ad hoc strategic initiatives, including evaluating potential M&A, investment, or business development opportunities – such as assessing a target company's product lines, cost structure, and margin profile relative to Daniel Defense's own.
  • Prepare and present financial analyses and business cases to the CFO and Executive Leadership Team.
  • Build and maintain dynamic financial models supporting a range of strategic and commercial finance initiatives.
  • Translate complex financial analysis into clear, decision-ready recommendations for finance and non-finance audiences.
  • Responsible for demonstrating commitment to and leadership of environmental health and safety principles, policies and procedures.
  • Participates in the company's efforts to continuously improve in Safety, 6S, Quality, Delivery and Productivity.
  • Expected to be a contributor to the company standards on high integrity, safety, fair and equitable treatment and a positive work environment.
  • Other responsibilities as deemed appropriate or necessary by management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial modeling, pricing analysis, margin management, or corporate finance.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including building and maintaining complex, dynamic financial models.
  • Demonstrated experience building business cases and presenting financial analysis directly to executives, including CFOs or senior leadership.
  • Strong analytical foundation in cost analysis, capital allocation, or valuation, with the ability to connect pricing, cost, and strategic decisions to margin and enterprise value.
  • Comfortable operating across a mix of recurring analytical work and ad hoc strategic projects, including evaluating outside companies or investment opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize and work within our Company Values.

Preferred

  • Experience with ERP systems (Infor, Epicor, or similar).
  • Exposure to manufacturing, defense, or consumer products industries with multi-tier customer channels.
  • Experience with M&A, valuation, or due diligence modeling.
  • Experience partnering with product development or engineering teams on cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Experience with Power BI, PowerPoint, or executive-level reporting.

Skills

  • Analytical rigor with strong attention to detail and comfort operating in previously unaddressed, ambiguous problem spaces.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to connect pricing, costing, and channel decisions to gross profit and enterprise outcomes.
  • Clear, confident executive communication and presentation skills, with the credibility to engage directly with the CFO and ELT.
  • Collaborative, service-oriented mindset toward New Product Development, Sales, and Operations partners.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a bias toward ownership – able to build a pricing and costing discipline from the ground up.
  • Ability to manage multiple, high-visibility strategic priorities in a fast-paced environment.
