Manager of Payroll Operations
About the role
The Manager of Payroll Operations will administer University pay and time off policies, oversee payroll deduction processes, ensure accurate and timely payroll processes, ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations, maintain payroll systems and standard operating procedures, develop test plans, provide payroll communication, conduct payroll presentations and training sessions as needed, provide exemplary customer service and resolve employee payroll issues, serve as a liaison for various departments across campus and supervise the Payroll Specialist positions. This position will also oversee the departmental interfaces, JVs, and JAGGAER as well as projects related to our process improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Provide the daily managerial oversight of the Payroll Operations including the Payroll Specialists.
- Ensure accuracy, timeliness and compliance with federal and state regulations for all payrolls processed by the Payroll Specialists.
- Ensure University policies are appropriately administered and all standard operating procedures are developed correctly and kept current.
- Investigate and resolve payroll issues.
- Provide exemplary customer service.
- Serve as a liaison for various departments across campus and supervise the Payroll Specialist positions.
- Oversee the departmental interfaces, JVs, and JAGGAER as well as projects related to our process improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Director of Payroll Operations on project timeline and deadlines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in accounting, business/office administration, office technology, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One through three years of related experience in payroll and time tracking or related position; supervisory experience.
Qualifications
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency with electronic computer systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Team player that fosters a positive work environment.
Skills
- Knowledge of Workday, or ADP SmartCompliance.
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations including IRS and FLSA.

Pay
$58,000 - $63,500
