About the Role

Responsible for the overall operational, financial, quality, and personnel performance of sterile processing operations across assigned departments or locations. Leads supervisors and operational teams, ensuring effective workforce management, resource allocation, regulatory compliance, and the delivery of safe, high-quality, and efficient reprocessing services aligned with organizational and patient care objectives.

Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Related Field of Study preferred

This role does not accept experience in lieu of a degree.

Licenses and Credentials

  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) required
  • Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) certification preferred
  • Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (C.S.P.D.T) – Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution, Inc preferred
  • Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS) – Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) preferred
  • Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) – Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) preferred

Experience

  • Central Processing Sterilization Experience: 3-5 years required
  • Supervisory Experience: 3-5 years preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Complete knowledge of clinical operations, hospital mission and goals, and human resources policies and procedures.
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to multitask, delegate appropriately, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to provide direction and development to employees by coaching, identifying training needs, assigning progressively challenging projects, and assisting in career development planning.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems in a systematic, logical, and timely manner.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in daily routine.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office applications and instrument tracking systems; ability to learn additional software as required.
  • Works within legal, regulatory, accreditation, and ethical practice standards relevant to the position: follows safe practices required for the position; complies with appropriate policies and procedures; fulfills any training required; brings potential matters of non-compliance to the attention of the supervisor or other appropriate hospital staff.

Pay

Annual pay range: $78,041.60 – $113,474.40 (Grade 8). At Mass General Brigham, base pay is determined by skills, relevant experience, education, certifications, and other essential factors. The provided range is an estimate based on minimum job qualifications and does not include the full compensation package, which may also include benefits, career advancement opportunities, differentials, premiums, bonuses, and recognition programs.
