About the role
Oversee and optimize daily warehouse operations while driving efficiency, productivity, and continuous improvement. This role includes control over inventory, safety, compliance, performance reporting, operational goals, budgets, vendor relationships, scheduling, process improvement, and physical infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of warehouse operations: receiving, storage, inventory control, order fulfillment, and shipping.
- Lead, mentor, and develop warehouse personnel to achieve operational goals while promoting a safe and productive work environment.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve efficiency, quality, and customer service.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety standards, OSHA regulations, and applicable industry requirements.
- Collaborate with supply chain, purchasing, production, and customer service teams to ensure seamless operational flow.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and implement operational best practices to reduce costs and increase productivity.
- Oversee inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and effective inventory management procedures.
- Manage warehouse staffing, scheduling, and labor utilization to meet business demands.
- Analyze operational data and prepare reports to support business decisions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support system enhancements and process automation efforts as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, or similar field.
- 5+ years of experience managing warehouse operations.
- Food manufacturing, food distribution, or other food industry experience is highly preferred.
- Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement certifications (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) are a significant plus.
- Experience with MS Dynamics is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management, logistics, warehouse operations, and process optimization.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities with a hands-on management style.
