About the Role

This position is responsible for planning and leading staff to ensure cost-effective, high-quality patient care in the Radiology department, adhering to Federal, State, and JCAHO requirements and organizational goals. The role ensures off-campus facilities align with Renown Health System’s mission and goals.

The incumbent oversees all operational aspects of Radiology, including imaging modalities, clerical, transcription, and film library functions, as well as registration, reception, and marketing. Responsibilities include ordering supplies, scheduling patients and staff, cross-training, budget preparation, hiring, and maintaining high-quality services. If providing direct patient care, the incumbent is accountable for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation across neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations, addressing physical, cognitive, and psychosocial needs.

The role requires independent decision-making in financial management, human resources, medical staff relations, and quality of service strategies. The incumbent must operate hospital and department computer systems, meet staff needs, and hold monthly meetings to discuss problem-solving, marketing, and innovative ideas.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise Radiology staff to ensure cost-effective, high-quality patient care.
  • Oversee all operational aspects of Radiology, including imaging modalities, clerical, transcription, film library, registration, reception, and marketing.
  • Order supplies, schedule patients and staff, and prepare budgets.
  • Hire and cross-train staff to fill open positions.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and JCAHO requirements.
  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Address patient needs specific to physical, motor/sensory adaptation, cognitive, and psychosocial requirements.
  • Make independent decisions in financial management, human resources, medical staff relations, and quality of service strategies.
  • Operate hospital and department computer systems proficiently.
  • Conduct monthly staff meetings to discuss problem-solving, marketing, and innovative ideas.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform job duties safely and effectively.
  • Completion of an AMA-approved 2-year radiology program or equivalent Ultrasonography program.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Radiology preferred.
  • Two years of supervisory/management experience in an acute healthcare setting.

Qualifications

  • Licensure in one of the following at time of hire:
    • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
    • Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
    • American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
    • American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT)
  • Candidates registered with ARRT (R) or (CT) must obtain a State of Nevada license for Medical Radiography at time of hire.
  • Current BLS certification by American Heart Association (AHA) standards required at time of hire.

Skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, Word).
  • Ability to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies.
