Responsibilities
- Work closely with regional stakeholders to resolve transportation service challenges and provide service solutions.
- Engage regularly with logistics providers to monitor shipment status and address transportation service challenges.
- In collaboration with regional operational stakeholders monitor logistic partner performance metrics against KPIs, established SOPs and service level agreements.
- Support global RFQ activities and initiate spot quoting requests for new lanes or adhoc shipments.
- Identify global transportation CI opportunities and lead or support CI project initiatives as needed.
- Solicit spot quotes for any modes to establish or modify lane pricing as needed, and aggregate results within the global rate repository.
- Support data collection and analysis for international air, ocean, drayage and/or parcel RFQs, bid cycle and analyses.
- Troubleshoot provider invoice rejections by working with providers, responsible BD shippers, and regional freight audit teams to determine root cause for reject so invoices can be resubmitted for processing.
Requirements
- Experience:
- Minimum six years relevant and recent hands-on experience managing international ocean and heavy air freight operational services with third party global logistics providers and ocean carriers.
- Experience with managing day-to-day international transport operations, and quoting ocean and air freight services is a must.
- Proficiency in managing spot quoting activities,
- Experience managing in a diverse, highly matrixed, highly regulated, multi-cultural environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of key supply chain/transportation processes & current best practices.
- Strong customer focus and a track record of delivering best in class service levels
- Prior Medical Device/Pharmaceutical international transportation operations with understanding of regulations and GDP/GMP standards affecting medical devices (FDA Quality System Regs/ISO 13485), and cold chain distribution experience highly desired.

- System familiarity and skills desired:
- Advance skills in Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, Macro creation, PowerPoint, Visio, MS Project, SharePoint)
- SAP ECC 6.0 and Business Intelligence
- TMS systems
- Logistics procurement tools
- Freight audit tools
- Dashboard creation for KPIs, other metrics
- Education:
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably with a concentration in Supply Chain, Operations Management, or Engineering.
- Certifications:
- Six Sigma, APICS, Project Management or related certifications desirable
