About the role
The position is responsible for collaborating with the field and internal team's efforts to guide the administration of benefits and support benefits technology such as HRIS system, benefits administration platform, and online portal. The role is responsible for a range of benefits projects and to support the benefit and technology vendor relationships. This position does not manage associates.
Responsibilities
- Guides, facilitates and oversees the education of HR partner relationships, leaders, and other key collaborators regarding current benefits offerings and benefits eligibility as well as benefits processes and procedures needed to support team members at Wellstar.
- Covers and executes client-directed projects and ongoing administrative services; identifies client needs and strategizes with senior leadership to support solutions. Operates in Microsoft Office, using advanced Excel including complex formulas, VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs and pivot tables, to analyze and present data effectively. Works with large datasets, troubleshooting discrepancies, and creating reports that support others’ decision-making.
- Serves as liaison with the Benefit vendors to ensure that the plans’ recordkeeping, payment and reporting systems are operated in compliance with plan documents and controlling laws and regulations.
- Serves as liaison to resolve escalated concerns/issues. Communicates professionally and promptly with all key stakeholders and executives in a manner consistent with company and client culture; fosters and maintains effective relationships and rapport with cross-departmental colleagues, carriers, and client partners; participates in various client and management-directed meetings, including HR and training meetings, implementation/ongoing client calls, and others.
- Schedules and maintains ongoing meetings with members of the benefits team to educate, guide, train, coach and inform on a regular schedule and as needed.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent years of direct workforce experience.
- Demonstrated professional experience with employee benefits administration, preferably in a medium-to-large organization. Benefits experience to include comprehensive knowledge of H&W plans administration and delivery; related accounting, financial and tax principles; and the legislation, regulations and regulatory agencies impacting and governing all employee benefit plans (ERISA, EBSA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA/ADAAA, HIPAA, FLSA, DOL Wage & Hour, IRS IRC Section 125, NLRA, USERRA, Davis-Bacon Act, etc.).
- Proven project management and planning experience.
- Advanced hands-on knowledge of MS Office, specifically MS Excel is necessary.
- Technical expertise with experience with HRIS and other benefits administration systems.
- Maintains a Life and Health Producer’s License. Completes continuing education, provides appropriate documentation, and all other licensing requirements as directed by the Licensing Coordinator. Timely notifies the internal licensing department of any information or situation which may affect licensure or appointment status.
