About the role

The Manager of Community Support Services Housing Services oversees the daily operations of the Housing Services program in the LA/OC or IE region. This role involves managing key program personnel, ensuring programmatic and contractual compliance, and representing the program in community relations.

Responsibilities

  • Supervision: Supervision of CSS Housing services staff includes overseeing and facilitating both qualitative and quantitative aspects of the CSS Housing Services job functions. This entails closely monitoring the work of both Housing Retention Specialists, Housing Navigators/ Housing Case Managers, Program Coordinators, and Lead Housing Navigators/ Housing Case Managers insofar as it is delivered punctually and in accord with contractual tenets, ethically and in accord with Illumination Foundation guiding principles, and that it meets internally designed standards.
  • Client Care: Ensuring CSS Housing Services staff are using ethical, client-centered approaches when engaging members. Ensuring staff attendance at communal engagements where client-care details / strategies surrounding their members are being discussed. Ensuring staff themselves take client-centered approaches when engaging clients. Viewing documentation through a programmatic lens and a client-centered one, intervening in cases that fail to uphold our client care standards. Ensuring that all clients, issues, grievances, or concerns are addressed per Health plan accordingly.
  • Leadership and Community Relations: Empowering community members in decision-making processes ensuring that initiatives are inclusive, resilient, and community driven. Providing ethical and inclusive leadership fostering trust and engagement within diverse communities. Building trust and credibility to sustainable community engagements. Engaging in weekly 1:1 collaborative efforts with CSS Housing Services staff, as well as with the Associate Director of CSS Housing Services.
  • Collaboration: Engaging in weekly 1:1 collaborative efforts with CSS Housing Services staff, as well as with the Associate Director of CSS Housing Services. Collaborating with client care team members belonging to other programs, to co-create and optimize the deliverance of client care services. Collaborating with administrative staff belonging to contracting agencies and being a point of contact for field-based / client-facing inquiries, questions, and concerns of contractors. Collaborating with various departments regarding program-related initiatives. Working with leadership to develop strategic initiatives aimed at addressing trends related to housing instability in the Los Angeles, Orange County, and/or Inland Empire regions.
  • Administrative Oversight: Attending all monthly meetings with contractors, as well internal meetings with administrative staff. Overseeing employee timesheets and being responsible for their compliance / accuracy. Drafting and administering corrective actions when staff members do not meet established expectations and standards. Documenting and tracking all corrective actions and counseling forms to ensure compliance with HR policies and organizational guidelines.
  • Workflow and Policy Development: Implementing and executing an onboarding process for new personnel to ensure operational readiness within the first 30/ 60/ 90 days. Overseeing training / growing personnel and administering new curricula when necessary. Developing a standardized reporting template for personnel to facilitate the efficient submission of monthly program updates. Contributing to the long-term success of the program. Possessing comprehensive understanding of the Cal AIM CSS programs in its many facets, including contractual / obligatory standpoints, day-to-day functionality, staff / client relations, reporting requirements, resources, etc. Ability to think critically and be adaptive. Proficiency in IF’s Electric Health records (EHR) system and keen knowledge of CSS Housing Services documentation requirements. Affability, and communicative and social aptitude, in client, staff, and communal relationships. Ability to multi-task and remain composed in chaotic or inflamed situations. Ability to work independently, when need be, and address problems / crises when needed. Ability to top-down and bottom-up communicate, and be transparent. Demonstrates awareness of, and compliance with tenets of member confidentiality such as HIPAA. Ability to delegate and build relationships of trust and accreditation with staff members. Ability to be flexible and meet deadlines. Passionate commitment to serving our members populations of focus. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Cal AIM CSS Housing Services
  • Possess a proficient ability and willingness to learn and adapt
  • Be flexible, open, conscientious, and have a good / positive attitude
  • Possess marked social aptitude / a keen ability to work in social environments
  • Must be an excellent communicator and understand flexibility and variability in different communicative styles.

Preferred

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Proficiency in Outlook (Mail, SharePoint, Excel, Teams, Calendar)
