Manager of Corporate Quality

Full-Time, Exempt position located in Williamsport, MD or Rochester, NY, reporting to the VP of Operations. Travel requirement: 10-25% (international and domestic).

About the Role

The Senior Manager of Corporate Quality will be responsible for the Company's total quality strategy and execution, including quality processes and procedures across all departments as a cross-functional integrated strategy. This encompasses Quality Assurance Systems, Certifications, Process and Procedures, and Product Reliability from design through commercial transaction. This role will interface with core customers, suppliers, and partners to implement improvement strategies, resolve issues, and foster a proactive quality culture.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Quality Champion, partnering with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders to implement improvement strategies and resolve issues.
• Single point of ownership for strategic implementation of corporate quality systems within plants and departments.
• Drive commonality and consistency across all plants, ensuring quality standards from new product design through post-sales support.
• Implement new ERP modules for quality and related modules as needed.
• Drive lean and continuous improvement initiatives across multiple U.S. plants.
• Improve work methods and operating procedures.
• Ensure quality processes and strategies are adhered to by key organizational leaders (e.g., design engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, supply chain, customer service, and sales).
• Develop and track key metrics to drive common measurement across plants.
• Identify and implement quality improvement projects.
• Assure proper technologies and platforms are in place or recommend new ones for implementation.
• Own the compliance platform for standards set by AMMA and other industry specifiers.
• Support sourcing and supply chain with QA inspection processes, supplier performance reporting, and management tools.
• Serve as the first point of contact for customer issues.
• Improve and assure documented procedures.
• Lead and participate in Value Added Value Engineering initiatives.
• Provide leadership to the quality team.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive quality engineering/quality systems management experience in a mechanically focused manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or another engineering discipline or related technical field.
• Proven ability to drive a Quality strategy and vision across a multi-site organization.
• Experience implementing ERP systems, including quality modules.
• Proven experience driving lean manufacturing practices across multiple plants.
• Management experience with a team of Quality Engineers and Technicians.
• Strong SPC, Process Capability, GD&T, and Metrology skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence all levels of an organization.

Qualifications

• ISO and/or Six Sigma implementation experience is a plus.
• Certification (CQE, Black Belt) is a plus.
• Experience with test and measurement equipment and processes.
• Fenestration experience is a plus but not required.

Pay

$100,000 - $120,000, depending on experience.
