About the Role

As a trusted advisor, you will lead college-wide classification and compensation initiatives, modernize programs and practices, and ensure our compensation philosophy supports organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, and student success. Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of classification and compensation professionals, creating a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability, and exceptional customer service.
  • Partner with leadership on compensation strategy, workforce planning, organizational design, and talent initiatives.
  • Drive complex classification and compensation projects, including organizational reviews, restructuring efforts, process enhancements, and change management initiatives.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of job architectures, classifications, and position descriptions to ensure consistency, transparency, and organizational alignment.
  • Design and administer competitive compensation programs, salary structures, market pricing activities, and pay practices that attract and retain high-performing talent.
  • Provide expert guidance on pay equity, compensation analytics, compliance, and risk management.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws, collective bargaining agreements, and institutional policies.
  • Leverage workforce and compensation data to inform organizational decisions, budgeting, and long-term talent strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in compensation, classification, human resources, or related areas.
  • Two (2) years of supervisory or people leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated success leading teams, managing complex projects, and driving organizational initiatives.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, certifications, and experience may be considered.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation.
  • Experience designing salary structures and conducting market pricing analyses.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including modeling, pivot tables, and automation.
  • Experience in higher education, public sector, or similarly complex organizations.

Pay

Hiring range: $88,876 - $122,205 annually. Initial salary placement for new hires falls between the minimum and midpoint of the range and is based on relevant candidate experience and internal equity. The maximum salary for this position is $155,534 annually.

Schedule

This position is eligible for telework up to two (2) days a week. Telework eligibility and total days per week are subject to change based on the operational needs of the applicable unit/area.
