Position accountabilities

- Conduct thorough bridge inspections aligned with Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) bridge safety standards and CPKC's industry-leading bridge safety management policies, ensuring the safety and reliability of vital infrastructure
- Review and audit bridge maintenance and renewal activities to confirm they adhere to CPKC's Structures Red Book guidelines, promoting consistent and high-quality standards
- Assess structural assets such as bridges, overhead highway structures, culverts, retaining walls, and turntables to maintain safe and efficient operation
- Operate specialized bridge inspection vehicles to facilitate detailed assessments and streamline inspection processes
- Supervise unionized crews by coordinating their daily activities and ensuring grievances are resolved according to collective bargaining agreements

Position requirements
- High school diploma or general equivalency
- Valid driver's license; Class A Commercial Driver's License is an asset
- Minimum of 5 years' railroad bridge inspection, maintenance, or construction experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Bridge Inspector certification
- Valid passport with ability to travel to U.S./CAN without restrictions
- Knowledge of field inspection, maintenance, and construction practices for railroad bridges
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with proficiency in computer systems
- Participate in on-call schedule for emergency response, ensuring operational coverage
