Manager Nursing Unit
Job Description
Providers leadership to the clinical education staff at both OGH and BRMC. Responsible for assessing, planning, coordinating, facilitating, implementing and evaluating educational programs for professionals and paraprofessionals who provide direct patient care and/or are involved in patient-related activities. Oversees the day to day activities and staff in the clinical education department. Participates in education, related to system-wide activities, and clinical programs throughout Olean General Hospital and Bradford Regional Medical Center. Coordinates unit specific education in conjunction with the Department managers and ensures timely completion. Establishes working relationships with external partners and Schools of Nursing to share best practices and resources when opportunities present. Serves as one of the stroke quality directors with responsibilities of facilitating data abstraction, trending of data and education of staff.
Education And Credentials
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing or related field
- or five (5) years recent clinical experience as an RN in an acute care setting
- Certification recommended within two (2) years of start date
Experience
- A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the clinical area related to the position
- Previous teaching experience preferred
Qualifications
- Highly developed interpersonal, education assessment, and communication skills
- Educational, technical and therapeutic knowledge as required by standards of care and educational methods
- Ability to accept responsibility for educational programming and identifying and responding to educational needs
