Manager Nursing Unit
Location: North Tonawanda, NY (DeGraff Medical Park)
Full-time, onsite position; non-union.
About the role
This position provides 24/7 leadership to the nursing care team, ensuring patient needs are met while under medical care in the facility (inpatient, resident, day surgery, etc.). The Nurse Manager assesses needs, plans, implements, and evaluates patients' nursing care. Responsibilities include overseeing one or more departments, managing operations, hiring and terminating staff, disciplining and counseling staff, and approving payroll and time records. The Nurse Manager is also accountable for quality improvement outcomes and activities within their unit(s).
Responsibilities
- Provide 24/7 leadership to the nursing care team.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patients' nursing care.
- Oversee department operations, including hiring, terminating, disciplining, and counseling staff.
- Approve payroll and time records.
- Manage quality improvement outcomes and activities for assigned unit(s).
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (required).
- Current NYS licensure as a Registered Nurse (required).
- National Certification in related clinical area or leadership (preferred upon hire).
- 3 years of experience in a clinical setting (required).
- 1 year of experience in clinical leadership (required).
- 1 year of experience in the specific clinical service line of the assigned department (preferred).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (essential).
Schedule
- Full-time, standard bi-weekly hours: 75.00.
- Scheduled work hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
- No weekend/holiday requirement.
- No on-call required.
- No rotation scheduled.
Pay
Salary range: $103,945.73 – $142,917.65 (bi-weekly pay frequency). Wage determination based on candidate's experience, qualifications, internal equity, and any applicable collective bargaining agreement.
