About the role
The OR Nursing Manager at CHI Health Saint Francis is responsible for leading and mentoring a team of Registered Nurses, overseeing clinical operations, advocating for patient and team needs, and driving professional development and unit goals.
To be successful, the manager will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and the authority to make key decisions such as interviewing, hiring, terminating, promoting, and conducting performance evaluations.
The manager will also coordinate and manage operating systems, operational standardization, service standards, and communication methods in alignment with system policies and processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor Registered Nurses, overseeing clinical operations, and advocating for patient and team needs.
- Oversee the functional and technical job performance of team members.
- Allocate and direct staffing needs to meet patient, unit, and Hospital needs, collaborating with others to ensure overall staffing needs are met.
- Manage performance including setting goals, clarifying job expectations, monitoring performance progress, providing feedback, recognizing, developing skills, and addressing performance issues.
- Maintain and oversee customer and patient engagement, growth, quality initiatives, and patient safety for multiple departments, utilizing regulatory and organizational knowledge and policy.
- Coordinate and manage operating systems, operational standardization, service standards, and communication methods in line with system policies and processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) and minimum of three (3) years leadership experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years leadership experience in the discipline.
- Active RN license in the state of Nebraska.
- Basic Life Support - CPR from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Preferred:
- Masters Degree and a minimum of five (5) years of progressive work experience.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support from the American Heart Association (AHA).

- Has the authority to interview, hire, orient, terminate, promote, train, and conduct performance evaluations.
- Oversees the functional and technical job performance of team members.
- Allocates and directs staffing needs to meet patient, unit, and Hospital needs, and collaborates with others to ensure overall staffing needs are met.
- Manages performance including: goal-setting, clarifying job expectations, monitoring performance progress, providing feedback, recognizing, developing skills, and addressing performance issues related to work and our Commitments using corrective action.
- Maintains and oversees customer and patient engagement, growth, quality initiatives, and patient safety for multiple departments, utilizing regulatory and organizational knowledge and policy.
- Captures and manages operating systems, operational standardization, service standards, and communication methods in line with system policies and processes.

Pay
The posted compensation range of $47.29 - $70.35 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting.
Schedule
The schedule is 80 hours per pay period, with a weekly schedule of 8-5 and a shift of Day.
