About the role
Manages the daily operations of the assigned department, unit, or function to ensure alignment with departmental and organizational objectives.
Responsibilities
- Monitors departmental budgets and regulatory compliance.
- Determines and justifies needs for systems, equipment, and supplies purchases; monitors usage and oversees proper working order and/or stock supplies.
- Assesses the quality of patient care delivered.
- Evaluates needs of patients and families and provides patient and family-centered care.
- Manages complaints and conflicts through to resolution.
- Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict management.
- Performs and oversees scheduling, recruitment, labor utilization/retention, payroll, and student engagements.
- Assists with developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (Required). Additional info: Bachelor's degree in Nursing or enrolled in an accredited program.
- BLS certification from the following:
- American Heart Association (BLS AHA ECARD, BLS AHA-RQI ECARD, BLS AHA, BLS GRACE)
- Red Cross (BLS RC)
- Registered Nurse License: Compact multistate license or Florida state license (RN LICENSE COMPACT or RN LICENSE).
- Three (3) years of nursing experience and one (1) year of supervisory experience.
