About the role
Manages the daily operations of the assigned department, unit, or function to ensure alignment with departmental and organizational objectives.
Responsibilities
- Monitors departmental budgets and regulatory compliance.
- Determines and justifies needs for systems, equipment, and supplies purchases; monitors usage, oversees proper working order, and stock supplies.
- Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict management.
- Performs and oversees scheduling, recruitment, labor utilization and retention, payroll, and student engagements.
- Assists with developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
- Assesses the quality of patient care delivered. Evaluates needs of patients and families. Provides patient and family centered care.
- Manages complaints and conflicts through to resolution.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (Required).
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association, Red Cross, or equivalent (including grace periods for essential credentials).
- NRP certification from the American Heart Association or American Academy of Pediatrics (including grace periods for essential credentials).
- Registered Nurse License in the State of Florida or a Compact RN Multistate License.
- Three (3) years of nursing experience and one (1) year of supervisory experience.
- Requires critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
