Manager, NSHE Payroll Services
The University of Nevada, Reno seeks a Manager, NSHE Payroll Services under the supervision of the Director, NSHE Payroll Services. Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the payroll operation for the Nevada System of Higher Education
- Direct supervision of staff
- Execution of all payroll payments
- Monitoring, executing, and analyzing payroll integrations with internal and external parties
- Data analysis, reporting, and auditing of payroll liabilities such as multi-state taxes, federal tax deposits, healthcare, and two retirement plans for NSHE
- Processing and completing off-cycle payroll payments, classified and professional pay cycles
- Testing and implementing changes to the payroll system, including maintenance of payroll calendars and schedules, updates from benefits providers, and configuration of new functionality as mandated by federal, state, and Board policies
This position operates in conformity with state and federal regulations, Board of Regents policies, institutional budget constraints, and accepted accounting practices.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and four (4) years of related professional work experience
- OR Master’s degree and two (2) years of related work professional experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Higher education knowledge
- Workday (HCM/Benefit/Absence/Payroll) experience
- Experience with defined benefit contribution plans, compliance, collective bargaining, and audits
