About the role
Zayo is seeking a Manager, Network Construction to oversee fiber construction teams within an assigned geographic area. The role involves managing vendor relationships, executing work orders, and maintaining Zayo's fiber networks and services.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of Supervisors of Fiber Construction and Fiber Construction Managers
- Work with NOC, Engineering, Field Operations, and Change Management teams to establish and monitor KPIs
- Maintain knowledge of technology and enforce Zayo standards
- Develop and coach direct employees, and ensure similar opportunities throughout the team
- Manage external vendors and ensure timely completion and within budget
- Oversee initial construction reviews, site construction, and permit applications
- Ensure all jobs are tracked accurately and completed according to Zayo standards
- Partner with utility and municipal providers to streamline permit processes
- Manage long-term planning and resource allocation for future growth
- Act as a safety observer and Quality Assurance representative
- Diagnose and resolve workflow problems, and implement solutions
Requirements
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience managing large-scale fiber OSP and ISP development projects
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in project management, including budgeting and finance
- Previous experience managing off-site teams
- Proven leadership, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Strong background in fiber optic infrastructure engineering, construction, and restoration methods
- Expertise in reporting and understanding workflows, customer needs, and underlying technology
- Strong analytical skills and ability to determine problem root causes
- Positive attitude and desire to deliver exceptional results
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced customer-focused environment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction-related field, or equivalent work experience
- Valid driver's license

- Proven people and project management skills
- Familiarity with Outside Plant (OSP) and Inside Plant (ISP) installation standards and practices
- Strong analytical skills and ability to determine problem root causes
- Curiosity, initiative, and drive, along with the ability to quickly learn new technology
- Willingness to think strategically and tactically
- Ability to diagnose workflow problems and institute remedies
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Visio, Word, PowerPoint)
