About the Role

Viega is seeking a strategic and results-oriented Maintenance Manager to lead the Metals Maintenance department in McPherson, KS. In this role, you will drive equipment reliability and operational excellence, lead a high-performance technical team, develop and implement cutting-edge maintenance programs, and manage all aspects of the department to minimize downtime and ensure maximum efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team: Manage, train, coach, and retain a team of skilled maintenance professionals. Drive a culture of collaboration, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive strategic maintenance initiatives: Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance programs for complex metals production equipment.
  • Champion operational excellence: Utilize Lean Six Sigma and other continuous improvement tools to analyze and improve departmental processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Manage budgets and resources: Build and manage the annual departmental budget, control costs, and track spending in SAP to ensure alignment with operational goals.
  • Oversee projects and reporting: Manage complex equipment projects, coordinating with vendors and internal teams. Develop KPIs and reporting dashboards to monitor equipment performance and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Foster a world-class safety culture: Lead by example to ensure a safe work environment, promoting safety initiatives and ensuring compliance across all operations.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering (or a related field) is preferred, combined with 5-7 years of management experience OR 7-10 years of progressive maintenance experience with leadership responsibilities.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a high-performance technical team.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance strategies (preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance), Lean Six Sigma, and experience managing complex equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze data, develop metrics, and make strategic recommendations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.

Pay

Base Salary: $114,000 - $149,000 annually (based on experience and other compensable factors).

Bonus: Eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus based on company and individual performance.
