About the role
In this position, you will play a key role in recruitment, selection, training, supervision, and staffing of team members while implementing resident-centered dementia care and providing nursing care to residents.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, select, train, supervise, and staff team members
- Implement resident-centered dementia care
- Provide nursing care to residents, including:
- Completion of health assessments and resident care plans
- Discuss changes in resident condition with physicians
- Introduce interventions to reduce falls based on individual resident needs
- Medication administration and assistance with resident care as needed
- Coordinate the resident admission process with the community’s multidisciplinary team, including screening, assessment, and care planning
- Occasionally fill in on weekends as Manager-On-Duty
Requirements
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required
- Candidates with caregiver certifications beneficial to the community plus management experience may be considered
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, or Gerontology preferred
- Minimum 1–2 years of management experience in directing/providing dementia care for seniors preferred
- Strong background in patient care assessment, assessing resident behavioral symptoms, and developing non-pharmacologic approaches to meeting resident needs
- Experience in community or long-term care settings
- Must meet all state requirements
Schedule
Full Time, Sunday – Thursday. This position may occasionally require filling in on weekends as Manager-On-Duty.
