Responsibilities
- Manages and directs staff supporting medical education programs, including program coordinators and other education staff, ensuring clear expectations, accountability, and professional development.
- Prioritizes, delegates, and oversees workflow for the team to ensure efficient operations, completion of tasks, and alignment with organizational goals.
- Provides coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to support staff growth, engagement, and achievement of program objectives.
- Facilitates team collaboration and communication across departments and with external stakeholders to support smooth program operations.
- Makes sure staff comply with institutional policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements, offering guidance and support to maintain compliance.
- Plans and coordinates team-driven initiatives, including meetings, events, and operational projects, ensuring staff have the resources and direction needed for successful execution.
- Oversees staff participation in accreditation and program reviews, ensuring that all necessary preparation, documentation, and follow-up tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
- Manages staff-related budgets and resources, including monitoring expenditures, reviewing staffing needs, and ensuring resources are allocated effectively to meet program objectives.
- Develops and implements operational improvements in staff workflows, processes, and team structures to enhance efficiency, collaboration, and outcomes.
- Builds and maintains relationships with internal and external partners to support staff effectiveness and program success.
- Represents the Department in internal and external forums related to staff operations, professional development, and program oversight, as needed.
- Sets team priorities and coordinates work activities with other leaders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in medical education, academic medicine, healthcare administration, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of direct supervisory experience with formal authority over personnel decisions, including hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, staff development, corrective action, and termination.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of combined progressively responsible experience in medical education (or a closely related field) and a supervisory role with formal personnel management authority.
- Certified Training Administrator of Graduate Medical Education (C-TAGME)
