About the role

The Role: Our site in Chaska is seeking a Manufacturing Manager to join our operations team. The Manufacturing Manager will work closely with the front-line supervisors to help ensure our employees are working in a safe, quality, and productive manner supporting our Drum Line, Purebond, and InVue product lines. This role will have 6 direct reports including 2 salaried supervisors and ~60 indirect operations roles. The Manufacturing Manager is responsible and accountable for achieving departmental production requirements by focusing on service, quality, and agility through supervision of staff and other duties as assigned. The Manufacturing Manager plays a key role in translating business and operations strategy into executable engineering solutions while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures safety of employees and visitors within the company.
  • Maintains work area and employees’ performance for adherence to safety procedures, work restrictions, cleanliness and potential hazards.
  • Monitors quality parts production for customers.
  • Investigates and evaluates quality defects as assigned and determines appropriate actions to be taken.
  • Recommends and implements solutions to improve quality of products.
  • Provides recognition to employees.
  • Ensures employee training is provided for effective performance.
  • Addresses issues with employees, with supportive documentation.
  • Adheres to Company policies, procedures, and applicable budget requirements.
  • Counsels employees on performance issues.
  • Conducts timely employee performance reviews.
  • Coordinates effective delegation of work assignments and training.
  • Implements and monitors continuous quality improvement activities including waste and cost reduction, equipment and tool efficiencies and human resource planning.
  • Develops and maintains production schedules to meet the needs of customers by increasing manufacturing flexibility and reducing lead times.
  • Assists manufacturing in solving technical problems and debugging of products or processes.
  • Works with manufacturing managers to specify equipment and fixture needs and coordinates its design, purchase or construction, and implementation with emphasis on design of fixtures.
  • Develops assembly techniques and procedures.
  • Develops manufacturing cost reduction plans.
  • Follows standard Engineering and Technology practices and procedures.
  • Demonstrates a willingness to complete miscellaneous tasks as assigned in order to support the overall organization.
  • Participates in Entegris' continuous quality improvement process and dedication to customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, operations, or related field or equivalent experience, with 7+ years of demonstrated experience leading manufacturing teams, ideally across multiple departments.
  • Drive and initiative to build and influence a learning culture in a continuously evolving environment.
  • Budget planning experience, organizational and planning skills, communication skills and ability to adapt to workforce, work environment and customers needs.
  • A strong desire for continuous improvement and creativity to bring different ideas for improvement to the table.
  • Astute attention to detail; ability to assess Safety and Quality needs of the site and translate those into operational strategies.
  • Ability to understand and develop data/metrics to validate training performance.
  • Ability to perform visual checks and handle materials responsibly while wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and following site safety/quality standards.
  • Experience in working in an ISO 9000/14000 environment highly preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence outcomes, build alignment, and collaborate across functions and organizational levels.

Qualifications

  • Lift up to 40 lbs. as necessary.
  • Work in a manufacturing environment, including time on the production floor.
  • Move through industrial spaces, stand for periods of time, and comply with safety and PPE requirements.
