Compensation Overview
The annual base salary range for this position varies based on national market rates and is determined by various factors including role scope, complexity, location, and candidate qualifications. Employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards as part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program.
What Is the Opportunity?
The Manager, LOA Operations oversees the Leave of Absence (LOA) team, ensuring compliance, quality, and service levels. This role bridges frontline execution with strategic direction, identifying trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
What Will You Do?
- Monitor daily compliance, quality, and SLA performance across the LOA team and communicate findings to team leaders.
- Provide direct leadership to LOA Associates and Representatives, managing all core responsibilities including selection, onboarding, training, development, performance management, and coaching.
- Owning the monthly Dovetail quality review process for the LOA team, providing coaching and sharing findings with team leaders.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for all cases, coordinating with vendors, Employee Relations, HRBPs, and Legal while keeping team leadership informed.
- Manage new employee onboarding for the LOA team, ensuring structured training schedules and clear knowledge checks.
- Gather and prioritize process improvement opportunities across the LOA team, presenting recommendations to team leaders.
- Produce a monthly operations summary for team leadership, highlighting trends, risks, and achievements.
- Handle corporate audit requests and findings end-to-end, keeping team leadership informed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
- College degree in HR, business, or a related field.
- 6+ years of leave or benefits-related experience.
- Prior leadership experience.
- Experience with multi-state and international leave administration.
- Experience with Leave Case Management Technology and Workday platforms.
- Customer service-oriented, with excellent verbal and written communication skills, driven results, and effective prioritization.
- Excel, Word, and related software proficiency.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Thoroughly analyzes information and makes timely, practical decisions and recommendations.
- Understanding of complex payroll calculations and system interactions impacting pay.
- Effective teamwork and communication with internal and external teams.
- High ethical standards and confidentiality.
- CEBS exams and designations a plus.
What is a Must Have?
- 4 years of disability and leave administration experience, including experience communicating benefits plan details with employees.
