About the Role
The Academy plays a critical role in building organizational capability by delivering targeted technical training in core disciplines, cultivating leadership excellence, and fostering client- and partner-focused learning. The Academy drives a culture of innovative learning that delivers property insurance knowledge and expertise for the benefit of clients and partners. The Manager of Learning Experience Design and Development leads the strategy related to learning experience design and development in support of core disciplines, leadership, and client and partner initiatives. This role inspires and leads a global team of learning experience designers and developers to deliver high-quality, innovative, and engaging learning experiences for a global audience, resulting in positive business impact. The position elevates learning to serve as a differentiator in the marketplace and a driver for attracting and retaining top talent. This role manages an extensive project portfolio by assessing learning needs in collaboration with Academy and business stakeholders and recommending associated learning solutions.
Responsibilities
- Execute and support the Academy strategy for all three functional areas (pillars) and the Learning Experience Design strategy by directing the analysis, design, development, and implementation of learning and development for all functional areas of the Academy.
- Act as a key strategic partner and advocate for learning, collaborating with Academy and business stakeholders to qualify requirements for learning and development, ensuring effective learning solutions meet specific needs. This includes recommending non-learning solutions where appropriate.
- Manage team resource capacity to support prioritized strategic efforts, with the ability to pivot as business needs require.
- Develop strategic relationships with key stakeholders to understand performance needs.
- Explore and approve innovative techniques, tools, and responsible AI use to maximize learning experiences.
- Drive continuous improvement throughout all learning programs.
- Create an environment that encourages, empowers, and fosters staff development by providing challenging assignments and appropriate feedback.
- Coordinate and foster teamwork throughout the Academy.
- Ensure quality, consistency, and centralized learning assets across the Academy.
- Manage vendor selection and implementation of external content providers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Design, Performance Consulting, CPTD, Business Management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience managing or leading a team, including remote team engagement.
- Proficiency with ADDIE, active learning methodologies (in-person and virtual), program design, and curriculum development for programs spanning several months.
- Project management, performance consulting, and business partnership experience.
- Leadership development experience at all levels of leadership.
- Experience in assessment and evaluation of learning tied to business results and impact.
- Experience working with senior executives and business leaders at all levels.
Skills
- Expert in all phases of instructional design with an agile mindset—Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate.
- Experience with development tools including Captivate, Storyline, Camtasia, and Vyond (GoAnimate).
- Strong leadership, consulting, negotiation, and moderator skills.
- Highly motivated and passionate about learning and development as a differentiator.
- Ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
- Strong project management, planning, and organizing skills with the ability to manage simultaneous initiatives and ambiguity.

Schedule & Location
This is a full-time, office-based position in Norwood, MA. Domestic relocation support may be considered based on company criteria and leadership approval.
