Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant labor relations experience
  • Proficiency with web-based databases and Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and PowerPoint

Required Experience

  • Grievance management from intake through resolution
  • Experience working directly with unions
  • Conducting Step 1 and Step 2 grievance meetings
  • Labor contract administration
  • Knowledge of union grievance procedures and processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Arbitration experience
  • Ability to work independently and manage complex employee relations matters

Responsibilities

  • Advise internal clients, including management and human resources, regarding union contract compliance for bargaining units and/or assigned topics
  • Advise internal clients regarding discipline of union employees, including just cause standards, as applicable, investigations, and rights to union representation
  • Responsible for handling union grievances through arbitration phase as assigned
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for union inquiries and concerns; triage issues, conduct research, provide responses, facilitate labor-management meetings
  • Support and execute union contract administration
  • Support collective bargaining, including preparation, research, contract implementation, and drafting as assigned
  • Provide training to HR and managers on assigned topics
  • Provide additional support to Labor & Employment department as needed
