Position Overview

SUMMARY (Basic Purpose of the Job)
Manages the day-to-day activities and resources of Capital Health (CH) Laboratory to provide inpatient and outpatient laboratory services.
Develops, maintains and administers clinical laboratory policies, processes and procedures.
Ensures laboratory operations are within approved budgetary parameters.
Manages through subordinate supervisors the activities of the Laboratory.
Manages the overall efficient operation of the section.

Education

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree.
Five years of clinical laboratory experience with two years supervisory experience.

Other Credentials

  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software, LIS, and HIS.
    Possesses excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
    Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously and ability to respond quickly in a fast paced environment.

Special Training

Knowledge and Skills: National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science (NAACLS) program preferred.

Essential Functions

  • Delegates and supervises day-to-day operations of the Laboratory.
    Participates as a team member in developing short- and long-term departmental goals and objectives consistent with Capital Health (CH) mission statement, goals, and objectives.
    Consults with and keeps section supervisors informed of activities, needs, and problems in their assigned areas.
    Consults and informs Administrative and Medical Directors of Laboratory Services of activities, needs, and problems in all Laboratory areas of responsibility.

  • Frequent physical demands include: Sitting , Standing , Walking , Carry objects , Push/Pull , Twisting , Bending , Reaching forward , Reaching overhead , Wrist position deviation , Pinching/fine motor activities , Keyboard use/repetitive motion
  • Occasional physical demands include: Climbing (e.g., stairs or ladders) , Squat/kneel/crawl
  • Continuous physical demands include: Talk or Hear
  • Lifting Floor to Waist 20 lbs.
    Lifting Waist Level and Above 20 lbs.

Pay Range

$97,947.20 - $127,982.40
