About the role
The Anatomic Pathology Supervisor at NeoGenomics is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Anatomic Pathology department, ensuring compliance with quality assurance and safety regulations, and managing staff resources.
Responsibilities
- Initiates and monitors quality control and quality assurance programs for the laboratory
- Affirms compliance with regulations and ensures adherence to quality metrics
- Oversees, plans, and prepares for inspections
- Sets standards, policies, and guidelines for the efficient management of the Anatomic Pathology laboratory
- Ensures that the Anatomic Pathology laboratory staff is trained and compliant with Standard Operating Procedures and competency checklists
- Oversees departmental Standard Operating Procedures and updates as needed
- Drives personnel management activities for the department, including conducting selection interviews, hiring personnel, training, coaching, and developing employees
- Conducts performance appraisals, documents deficiencies, develops plans for improvement, and counsels employees
- Maintains advanced knowledge of general and specialty requirements within CAP/CLIA/NYS institutions
- Accounts for the operation of a 24-hour function, including responding to emergencies, and attending meetings outside of working hours as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in one of the chemical, physical, or biological sciences, with at least 1 year of relevant experience or training/training course in assigned specialty
- OR Master of Arts or Master of Science Degree from an accredited institution in one of the chemical, physical, or biological sciences, with subsequent 4 years of relevant laboratory experience, including at least 2 years in a clinical laboratory with a director at the doctoral level
- At least 6 years of experience in histology laboratory, with HTL III or Lead Histotechnologist certification preferred
- Nationally: HT (ASCP) or HTL (ASCP) certification required
- FL: Current state supervisor level license and state technologist license to perform laboratory testing required
