Manager, IT Program Management
About the role
The Manager, IT Program Management is a senior leader within the IT Strategy and Delivery Management (SDM) team, responsible for overseeing the end-to-end execution of a portfolio of complex, enterprise-scale IT programs. This role directly manages IT Program Managers and is accountable for ensuring that all programs are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned to Seattle Children's strategic objectives.
Responsibilities
- Manages a team of IT Program Managers, providing coaching, performance management, and professional development to build a high-performing program delivery organization.
- Oversees end-to-end program execution across the IT portfolio, ensuring programs are structured, staffed, and governed to deliver defined business value on time and within budget.
- PARTNER WITH THE MANAGER, IT PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT TO TRANSLATE INTAKE, DEMAND, AND PRIORITIZATION DECISIONS INTO PROGRAM PLANS AND RESOURCE ASSIGNMENTS.
- DRIVES PROGRAM MANAGEMENT MATURITY AND ADOPTION OF STANDARDIZED METHODOLOGIES, TOOLS, AND BEST PRACTICES ACROSS THE PROGRAM MANAGER COMMUNITY.
- MANAGES VENDOR AND CONSULTANT RELATIONSHIPS SUPPORTING PROGRAM DELIVERY, INCLUDING CONTRACTING, PERFORMANCE MONITORING, AND ISSUE ESCALATION.
- SERVES AS A SENIOR ESCALATION POINT FOR PROGRAM-LEVEL RISKS, ISSUES, AND GOVERNANCE DECISIONS REQUIRING LEADERSHIP INTERVENTION.
- CONTRIBUTES TO THE IT PM COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE, FOSTERING KNOWLEDGE-SHARING AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT ACROSS THE BROADER PROJECT MANAGEMENT COMMUNITY.
Requirements
Minimum of ten (10) years of project/program leadership experience using proven methodologies. Minimum of five (5) years of management experience, including direct management of project or program managers. Minimum of three (3) years of experience managing large programs or project portfolios. Experience managing complex programs through the full lifecycle, preferably in Healthcare IT. Experience working with Lean methods and tools for Continuous Performance/Process Improvement (CPI). Experience managing vendors, consultants, and other purchased services.

$142,991.00 - $214,487.00 per year
