Responsibilities
- Lead the administration, maintenance, monitoring, and continuous improvement of enterprise Linux platforms across on-premises and hybrid environments.
- Remain highly hands-on by directly supporting, troubleshooting, administering, and engineering Linux systems, services, and supporting infrastructure.
- Serve as a senior escalation point for complex Linux incidents, production outages, performance issues, security events, and high-priority operational problems.
- Own incident, problem, and change management execution for Linux platforms, including timely resolution, clear communication, root-cause analysis, and durable corrective actions.
- Drive standardization, automation, patching, lifecycle management, configuration management, monitoring, and operational improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Strong hands-on knowledge of enterprise Linux administration, including RHEL, Oracle Linux, Rocky Linux, Ubuntu Server, CentOS, or equivalent platforms.
- Experience with system tuning, storage configuration, networking, logging, service management, monitoring, patching, and lifecycle support.
- Strong scripting and automation skills, including advanced Bash, Python, and Ansible; familiarity with Perl or legacy automation tools is helpful.
- Knowledge of secure file transfer and data-movement platforms such as Aspera, CrushFTP, GATE, FileCatalyst, SFTP, or FTPS.
- Understanding of security and compliance practices, including system hardening, vulnerability remediation, access controls, monitoring, and audit readiness; familiarity with CMMC, NIST, and/or ISO 27001 is preferred.
- Working knowledge of ITIL-aligned incident, change, and problem management processes.
- Ability to lead technical teams while remaining actively involved in day-to-day infrastructure operations and senior-level troubleshooting.
- Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and root-cause analysis skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
- Commitment to continuous improvement, customer service, operational excellence, and secure technology practices.
- Experience 8+ years of progressive experience supporting Linux systems, IT infrastructure, or related enterprise technology environments.
- 2+ years of experience leading, mentoring, or managing technical teams in production support or infrastructure operations environments.
- Experience supporting Linux platforms that host business-critical applications or databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle is preferred.
