Position Summary
The Manager, Industrial Certified Athletic Training will consult with the Director of Sports Medicine on issues related to the area of responsibility, provide oversight, leadership, and development of a program focused on proactive injury prevention, care, assessment, and medical triage as defined by OSHA standards. This includes ergonomic postural education and escalating medical care when necessary. The role also involves fitness and wellness management and education, strong communication with key stakeholders, accurate documentation, and providing reports with key metrics to leadership, client partners, and operations management.
Core Job Functions
- Manage healthcare staff: Work with the Director of Sports Medicine to hire, train, and manage a team of healthcare professionals, including athletic trainers, physical therapists, Nurse Pretensioners/Physician Assistants, Physicians, and support staff.
- Develop and implement an Industrial Athletic Training program: Collaborate with assigned staff members to design programs aimed at reducing, treating, and managing injuries. Evaluate employee readiness for industrial work and provide clearances when appropriate. Conduct initial assessments of injuries to provide emergency or ongoing care, report recovery progress to managers and physicians, and ensure timely documentation supporting skilled services provided and billed.
- Handle urgent/emergency situations: Manage and enforce safety standards in collaboration with the Safety and Health Department, effectively handling urgent/emergency situations while maintaining high-quality service.
