About the role
The Manager in Training assists the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear, consults in establishing action plans, and assumes supervisory control in the Store Manager's absence.
Responsibilities
- Aid the Store Manager in setting and executing departmental and overall store responsibilities.
- Assure quality customer service and maintain inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability.
- Train and guide employees and customers in all departments.
- Report to the Store Manager on inventory movement and customer trends.
- Assume supervisory control in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Perform general administrative duties as needed.
- Provide extraordinary customer service, including helping customers as they enter the store and during peak periods.
- Promote and sell merchandise, adhering to company policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Experience in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
- 1-3 years of customer service experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks.
- Passionate about outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.
Qualifications
- Knowledgeable in each product area or department in the store.
- Trained in the Store Manager's Responsibilities.
