About the role

The Manager in Training assists the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear. They consult with the Store Manager to establish action plans for departmental and overall store responsibilities, including selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.

Responsibilities

  • Affords knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments when necessary.
  • Ensures inventory, sales statistics, and expenses are monitored to maintain profitability in all departments.
  • Directs staff to complete departmental responsibilities and standards.
  • Updates the Store Manager on inventory movements and customer trends.
  • Maintains high levels of customer service.
  • Performs general administrative duties as needed and is trained in the Store Manager’s responsibilities.
  • Provides extraordinary customer service, including helping customers as they enter the store and managing multiple customers during peak periods.
  • Promotes and sells services and merchandise provided by Hibbett I City Gear.
  • Enforces and upholds all company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Protects company assets and financial information through accurate internal control procedures.
  • Assumes supervisory control in the Store Manager’s absence and trains in the Store Manager’s responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
  • One to three years of customer service experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage a team and meet overall goals and profits.
  • Self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and with precision.
  • Team-player passionate about outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
