About the role
The Manager in Training assists the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear, consults in establishing action plans, and assumes supervisory control in the Store Manager's absence.
Responsibilities
- Aid in asset control and establish action plans for departmental and overall store responsibilities.
- Assume responsibility for the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments.
- Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability.
- Direct staff to complete departmental responsibilities and standards.
- Inform the Store Manager about inventory movements and customer trends.
- Maintain high-quality customer service.
- Perform general administrative duties and carry out supervisory responsibilities.
- Practice and uphold all company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Protect company assets and financial information.
Requirements
- Experience in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
- 1-3 years of customer service experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage a team and achieve overall goals and profits.
- Self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Team-player with passion for outstanding customer service and merchandise selling.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license.
