Manager In Training (Part-Time)

About the role

The Manager in Training assists the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear. They consult with the Store Manager to establish action plans for departmental and overall store responsibilities such as selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling. In the absence of the Store Manager, the Manager in Training assumes full responsibility of the store, guides employees, and maintains quality customer service.

Responsibilities

• Affords knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments when necessary.
• Ensures inventory, sales statistics, and expenses are monitored to maintain profitability in all departments.
• Directs staff to complete departmental responsibilities and standards.
• Updates the Store Manager on inventory movement and customer trends.
• Provides extraordinary customer service, including helping customers as they enter the store and managing multiple customers during peak periods.
• Promotes and sells services and merchandise provided by Hibbett I City Gear.
• Adheres to and upholds all company policies, procedures, and standards.
• Protects the company's assets and financial information through accurate internal control procedures.

Requirements

• Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
• 1-3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to manage a team and meet overall goals and profits.
• Self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Team-player with passion for outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
