Manager In Training (Part-Time)

About the role

The Manager in Training assists the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear, consults on action plans to achieve departmental and overall store responsibilities, and serves as a supervisor in the Store Manager's absence.

Responsibilities

• Affords assistance in establishing action plans to accomplish departmental and overall store responsibilities.
• Assumes responsibility of the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Provides knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments when necessary.
• Ensures inventory, sales statistics, and expenses are monitored to maintain profitability in all departments.
• Directs staff to complete departmental responsibilities and standards.
• Updates the Store Manager on inventory movement and customer trends.
• Maintains quality customer service.
• Performs general administrative duties as needed and is trained in the Store Manager's responsibilities.
• Produces and gives extraordinary customer service as outlined in the customer service manual.
• Promotes and sells services and merchandise provided by Hibbett I City Gear.
• Upholds all Hibbett I City Gear policies, procedures, and standards.
• Protects the company's assets and financial information by ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of internal control procedures and reporting any potential fraud risks.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
• One to three years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to manage a team and meet overall goals and profits.
• Self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and with precision.
• Team-player passionate about outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.
